Where to Stay Near Globe Life Field

Where you sleep on a Rangers trip is one decision, and the Arlington Entertainment District makes it for you. It is a purpose-built cluster of stadiums, plazas, and hotels sitting between the two downtowns. There is no commuter rail into Arlington and no city bus, so the usual road-trip fallback of booking downtown and riding a train to the gates is off the table here. You either stay inside the district and walk, or you stay outside it and plan around a car. That is the whole decision.

Inside the district, two Loews properties are the walkable tier. Outside it, a ring of mid-range Arlington hotels works because of a free game-day trolley, but only for hotels on the trolley’s participating list. And wherever you book, the room rate answers to more than the Rangers schedule: this district also hosts the Cowboys and a convention center.

The walkable district hotels

Live! by Loews is attached to the Texas Live! complex on the park’s North Plaza, with rooms that overlook Globe Life Field, the Cut and Bourbon steakhouse, and an infinity pool. This is the location pick. Step out of the lobby and you are already in the middle of the game-day scene, with the gates a plaza walk away.

Loews Arlington Hotel & Convention Center opened in 2024 between Globe Life Field and AT&T Stadium: 888 rooms at resort scale, with pools and a lazy river that can carry a hot Texas afternoon on their own. This is the family-scale pick. It also hosts the conventions that book district rooms on dates with no game at all.

Walking to the gates from either Loews property is the whole pitch. Everything else in Arlington is a drive or a trolley ride away, and nothing on rails closes that gap.

The mid-range ring and the free trolley

Sheraton Arlington anchors the mid-range ring, joined by the Marriott and Hilton family properties strung along the I-30 and Six Flags corridor a short drive from the gates.

What makes a non-walkable hotel work here is the Arlington Trolley, a free event-day shuttle for guests of participating Entertainment District hotels. Pickup and drop-off is on Nolan Ryan Expressway, northbound side, and it runs from 2.5 hours before first pitch until about 30 minutes after the last out. Confirm your hotel is on that participating list before you book, not after. That one check is the difference between a free shuttle to the gates and a rideshare bill both ways, every night of the trip.

This is the tier to book when the plan is baseball: a fan who intends to spend the day at Texas Live! and the park and needs a reliable room at the end of it, with the savings going to tickets and brisket instead of a view.

What moves hotel rates here

Hotel rates in the district answer to three calendars, and the Rangers schedule is only one of them. AT&T Stadium sits across the parking lots, and a Cowboys home Sunday or a stadium-sized concert fills the same rooms baseball fans want. The convention business at Loews Arlington does the same thing on dates with no game anywhere. A weeknight Rangers date against a non-marquee opponent is about as cheap as the district gets. A Cowboys Sunday or a concert Saturday can push rates well past anything a Rangers series alone would create.

So check the AT&T Stadium event calendar before you book, even for a trip that is entirely about baseball. The listings take two minutes to scan, and skipping that check is the easiest way to pay a Cowboys-weekend rate for a Tuesday night of baseball.

Dallas or Fort Worth instead

Downtown Dallas and downtown Fort Worth both sit 20 to 30 minutes from the park by car, and both offer what Arlington does not: a real urban scene with bars and restaurants beyond the district footprint. For a fan who wants a city trip with a ballgame in it, either works. Price the commute in before you commit, though. There is no rail link, so every game night means a rideshare each way, with surge pricing likely on the postgame return. For most trips built around Globe Life Field, the district is still the answer.

How to choose

• The game-day scene at your door: Live! by Loews, attached to Texas Live! with the gates a plaza away.
• Kids, a pool day, and a short walk: Loews Arlington, with the lazy river between the two stadiums.
• Savings spent at the park instead: Sheraton Arlington or another mid-range property on the trolley list, confirmed before booking.
• A city trip around the ballgame: downtown Dallas or Fort Worth, with a rideshare each way priced in.
• Every option above: check the AT&T Stadium calendar for your dates first.
